SkyDeck Pod!The system features a semi-external glass “teardrop canopy”, or a pod, protruding out the top of a plane, where passengers can sit. It will provide an exhilarating view of the aircraft’s external environment while in flight. There are two different designs, one includes an elevator to transport the passenger into the canopy, and the other installs a set of stairs going up into the canopy in the roof of the plane. Windspeed Technologies thinks the SkyDeck could result in additional revenue for airlines if they charge on a pay-per-view basis, allowing airlines to charge an exorbitant premium on the experience.#skydeck #skydeckpod #windspeedtechnologies #luxury #luxuryaircraft #privatejet #privatejetlife #aviation #aviationdaily #AviationUpdate #SasidharanMurugan #Itzmemsd

Enhanced taxiway centre line markingWhere enhanced taxiway centre line marking is provided, under ICAO Annex 14 Vol 1, 5.2.8.5 it shall be provided at each runway holding position. So, in this example taken from Google Earth, it needs to be also painted on the taxiway centre line on the left leading from the holding bay. This is also a good example of how to interpret ICAO standards and recommended practices. Although the provision of the first enhanced taxiway centre line marking is a recommendation, once that first marking is painted, it becomes mandatory under the next clause to be painted at each runway holding position. Both the issues of enhanced taxiway centre line marking and the application of standards that follow a recommendation are covered in several modules of my online Aerodrome Compliance course, more information at https://lnkd.in/e8fmxSqM #runway #taxiway #airportdesign #aerodromestandards #visualaids #safety

Why an airport with 3 runway's are not designated as simple as 1,2 and 3? Here is why:Runway numbers indicate the runway's magnetic heading in degrees, rounded to the nearest 10, with the last digit dropped. For example, at Barcelona, a runway aligned with a 250° heading is labeled as 25.Each runway has two numbers, one for each direction, differing by 180° (e.g., Runway 25 and Runway 07). And if multiple runways are parallel, they may be distinguished by adding letters, like L (Left), C (Center), and R (Right), e.g., 25L and 25R.

What a stunning view of a Calvert approach! 😍 Our Micro Nav simulator allows us to virtually visit beautiful places! The sun sets at İGA İstanbul Airport, turning the side of this Turkish Airlines aircraft red. As the aircraft approaches on runway 18 (at 150% speed on the video), we clearly see the nice CAT III Calvert approach pattern:➡ Extending 900 meters from the threshold➡ With 5 crossbars increasing in length at 150, 300, 450, 600 and 750 meters.3 elements differentiates the CAT III Calvert approach from a CAT I:1️⃣ In the last 300 meters before the threshold, there are 10 barettes of 5 white lights on the centreline. Not just 1 light.2️⃣ The red side rows, of course! With 4 lights per side row, one more than for CAT B approaches.3️⃣ The 150 m white crossbar is changed, with 3 lights on each side of the 5-light central barette, and less spacing between the lights. 💡 Bonus for AGL lovers! Don't forget that red siderow lights and white crossbar lights beyond 22.5m from the centreline should be toed in 2 degrees! All the other white approach lights should be straight. 🔧 📖 The design references above come from the International Civil Aviation Organization Annex 14 Volume I - Aerodromes and the Doc 9157 - Aerodrome Design Manual, part 4, chapter 17. A must-read! 👍 ADB SAFEGATE #AGL #AIRFIELD #runway #approach #travel
